Taiwan is located in the subtropical zone with a pleasant climate throughout the year. Although summers can be hot and humid, it enjoys ample sunshine. Due to its geographical environment, energy supply and water resource utilization have always been serious issues. In addition to Taiwan’s own stringent demands, the global trend also drives the need for very careful planning and overcoming resource allocation challenges. Looking at the daily lives of most people today, 80% to 90% of the time is spent indoors—whether in offices, schools, or at home. Therefore, improving building designs has become a crucial task. As a result, buildings that focus on ecology, energy conservation, waste reduction, and health, collectively known as "green buildings," were born.
