Welding is an important technology for construction projects, manufacturing machinery, equipment, and components. The quality of this technology directly affects the product and equipment quality, service life, and safety. To improve domestic welding construction technology, welding research, specification development, terminology standardization, and the exchange of international welding knowledge, dedicated professionals in the industry established the "Welding Society of the Republic of China" in October 1986. To expand its services, the name was changed to the "Welding Association of the Republic of China" in June 1995, and further renamed the "Taiwan Welding Association" in November 2004.
