The association was founded in 1992 (Republic of China 81) through the joint efforts of the Taipei Hardware Commercial Association, the Taiwan Provincial Hardware Commercial Association Federation, and the Kaohsiung Hardware Commercial Association. The founding meeting was held at the Grand Hotel in Taipei, where national hardware industry elites gathered to initiate the establishment. On June 17, 1992, the Ministry of the Interior approved the establishment of the National Federation of Hardware Commercial Associations of the Republic of China. The term of the chairman is three years, with the position rotated in sequence among the northern, central, and southern regions. The purpose of the Federation is to provide various services to hardware businesses nationwide.
